What's new

v2.5.0Nov 1, 2026

Song recognition on Android: recognize the song playing near you from the empty search field or a Quick Settings tile, then find it in SimpMusic - Add lyrics: type or paste synced lyrics, line by line or word by word, for songs no provider has, saved for offline use and shared with SimpMusic Lyrics when you help build it
Improved - Desktop uses far less CPU and GPU: frames capped to your display, no drawing while minimized or hidden, no video decoding off screen - Liquid glass on Desktop: off by default, with its own switch in Settings → Interface, as on Android - Repeat One: Next and Previous move to another song, and a song repeats only when it ends by itself - Mouse on Desktop: drag horizontal lists and chips, Your daily discover moves one card at a time, and the Your library sidebar gets a blurred header with search - Playback after YouTube updates: a second player table shared with Metrolist, so songs play again sooner SimpMusic logo in GNOME's media controls and on the AppImage, rounded-square icon on macOS
Fixed - Previous doing nothing on the first song of the queue, a crash in Android - System WebView on log-in pages on some phones - Saved lyrics not showing when LRCLIB found nothing, shared album links that did not open the album
