NouTube

🎬 NouTube — YouTube & YouTube Music Without Ads

NouTube is an open-source Android application that brings YouTube and YouTube Music together in one convenient interface. Designed for users who want a cleaner and more flexible viewing and listening experience, it adds useful features such as ad blocking, background playback, video downloads, and local media management.

Instead of rebuilding YouTube from scratch, NouTube uses the mobile YouTube and YouTube Music websites inside an Android WebView, enhancing their functionality with additional playback controls and custom scripts.

🚫 Ad-Free Experience

NouTube injects custom scripts to block advertisements while browsing and watching content, helping provide a cleaner experience with fewer interruptions.

🎵 Background Playback & Music

Enjoy music and audio without keeping the app in the foreground.

- Background video and music playback. - YouTube Music integration in the same application. - Original audio track playback. - Playback controls through Android media notifications. - Live chat support. - Hide Shorts for a less distracting experience.

📥 Downloads & Media Library

Manage your favorite content without requiring a YouTube account.

- Download videos for offline access. - Manage your video and music library. - Save and organize content locally. - Access and manage watch history without signing in. - Browse and follow YouTube channel RSS feeds.

📡 RSS Feeds & Content Discovery

🎨 Customization

NouTube provides additional control over the appearance and behavior of the YouTube web interface.

- Custom CSS support for personalized styling. - Configurable content visibility. - Integrated YouTube and YouTube Music experience. - Familiar mobile web interface with enhanced app-level controls.

🔐 Privacy & Account-Free Features

Many library and history management features work without requiring a Google or YouTube sign-in. This allows users to organize content locally without depending on an account for those functions.

However, NouTube still connects to YouTube and YouTube Music services to load content. Using the app does not mean that all network activity is independent of Google's services.

📱 Availability & Requirements

- Android 7.0 or newer. - Available through F-Droid and GitHub releases. - Desktop editions for Linux, Windows, and macOS are maintained separately. - Browser extensions are also available for Firefox and Chrome.
