Virustotal

VirusTotal is an online service that helps users assess whether files, website links, domains, or IP addresses may be malicious. It gathers results from many antivirus scanners, URL and domain blocklists, and other security tools, then displays them together in a report. This makes it useful for checking suspicious downloads or links and for giving security analysts additional information during an investigation.

A VirusTotal report may show how many security tools flagged an item, each tool’s verdict, and other available analysis details. VirusTotal aggregates these findings; a detection count is a useful clue, not a definitive judgment. A clean result does not guarantee an item is safe, and an item flagged by only one scanner may need further review.
