Merger App

An open-source Android application for rebuilding split APK packages into a single, signed, installable APK directly on your device.

Mergify supports APKS, XAPK, and APKM packages, automatically detects available split APK components, and provides flexible controls for device configuration, split selection, APK signing, output customisation, and installation.

Auto Detect and Split Configuration

- Auto Detect: automatically reads the device configuration (ABI, DPI, language) and uses it to determine which APK splits to include. - Auto Config: configure ABI, DPI, and language independently using From Device, Disabled, or Custom values. - Split Picker: when Auto Config is disabled, choose manually which available APK splits to include in the output.

Split APK Reconstruction

APK Import and Extraction

- Import packages using direct file paths - Extract APKs directly from installed applications - Import packages through Android Storage Access Framework (SAF) - Identifies installed non-system apps containing split APK components

Auto Install

- Requests Android's package installer immediately after the merge completes. - Final installation remains under the user's control through Android's system. - Optional removal of the existing installed app before installation, useful when the signing certificate differs. - Optional deletion of the generated APK after installation.

APK Signing

- Signing can be enabled or disabled. - Select signing schemes: V1, V2, V3, V4. - Keystore management: generate a new keystore, import an existing one, select one, and use it to sign. - Supported keystore format: PKCS#12 (.p12)

Processing and Output

- Toggle native library extraction. - Configure output directory (defaults to Download folder). - Customise filenames with prefix, suffix, timestamp, and version name. - Configurable compression level. - Configurable log levels: Default and Simple.

Appearance and Personalisation

- Material You and Dynamic Color on supported Android versions. - Dark Mode and Pure Black theme. - Multi-language support: English, Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Vietnamese, Chinese.

Requirements

- Android 10 (API 29) or newer - Permission to install applications from unknown sources (for Auto Install)

Permissions

- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE for reading APK split packages. - WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE for writing output on Android 9 and below. - MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE for direct file imports and output generation. - REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES for Android's package installer. - REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES for requesting removal of an existing app.

Mergify does not silently install applications. The final installation process is handled by Android's package installation system and may require user confirmation.

Notes

- When an APK is rebuilt and signed with a different key from the original, Android treats it as a different signing identity. The existing app may need to be removed before the new APK can be installed. - Unsigned APKs generally cannot be installed through the standard Android installation process. Modified or rooted environments may behave differently. - Mergify does not include or require any signature verification bypass mechanism.
