Shizuku-fork

A new and easy-to-use Shizuku variant.

Shizuku is an Android app that allows other apps to use system-level APIs that require ADB or root privileges.

Note

This is a fork of the unofficial Shizuku fork by thedjchi. The original Shizuku is available from the RikkaApps/Shizuku repository, and the base fork is available from thedjchi/Shizuku. This variant is for the maintainer's own use, so use it at your own risk.

Features added by symbuzzer

- Fewer options, much easier to use: many options and features have been hidden and only shown when needed. Redundant ones have been removed entirely. - More automated initial setup: instead of showing unnecessary notifications and warnings, processes are automated. The Pairing button has been removed; everything can be completed with the Start button. - Hide or show advanced Shizuku features and settings: hide settings that are rarely used and can be confusing. - All unnecessary external links have been removed. - Improved user experience: the Stop button and About section have been moved to more native locations. - Language selection integrated into native Android Settings. - Reimplemented in-app update feature: updates can be downloaded and installed directly within the app. - Removed Stealth mode so the app can be published on any FOSS repository in future. - Fixed Turkish and Portuguese translations.

Features inherited from thedjchi's fork

- More robust start on boot: waits for a Wi-Fi connection before starting the Shizuku service. - TCP mode: once Shizuku starts with Wi-Fi after a reboot, it can be stopped and restarted without a Wi-Fi connection. - Watchdog service: automatically restarts Shizuku if it stops unexpectedly, and can alert you of crashes and potential fixes. - Start and stop intents: toggle Shizuku on demand using automation apps such as Tasker, MacroDroid, or Automate. - Android TV and VR headset support: compatible with D-pad remotes, all TVs, and toggleable multi-window pairing dialog. - MediaTek support: fixes a critical bug in v13.6.0 that prevented Shizuku from working on MediaTek devices.

Installation

1. Remove all Shizuku variants before installing and reboot the device, since they all use the same package names. 2. Disable Play Protect before installation, because the official Shizuku is already published on the Play Store with the same package name but a different signature, and Play Protect detects all variants of Shizuku as malicious. 3. Download and install the latest APK. 4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Note

During the first setup and each reboot, the device should be connected to a Wi-Fi network once.

Privacy

- No tracking or analytics, no telemetry, no proprietary libraries, no Google Play Services. - Open-source codebase with reproducible builds. - Internet access is used only for wireless debugging connections. - Only required permissions are declared.
