An open-source Android call, SMS, and notification blocker (Android 10+).

1. About the Project & How It Works

SpamBlocker Extended blocks spam calls, SMS, and app notifications without requiring you to replace your default call or SMS applications.

What makes it different:

- Notification Screening: Applies blocking rules to messaging apps (RCS, Signal, WhatsApp, email, etc.) by analyzing notification titles and bodies, automatically dismissing spam. - Custom Alerts: Provides light sound, vibration, flashlight, or screen-wake chimes when a screened notification is allowed, avoiding duplicate system notifications. - Flexible Call Blocking Modes: Offers three ways to handle blocked calls: - Reject: Completely silent, screen stays off (same as pressing decline). - Silence: Rejects on your device while continuing to ring for the caller. - Hang Up: Answers and immediately ends the call to prevent voicemail access.

2. Key Features

Call & SMS Filters:

- Contact Controls: Filter by contacts, contact groups, or contact prefixes. - Behavioral Rules: Allow calls based on repeated attempts, recently dialed or answered numbers, emergency call windows, or recently used apps. - Contextual Triggers: Trigger permissions via Push Alerts (e.g., delivery updates), SMS Alerts, or SMS Bomb protection against OTP floods. - Advanced Modes: Meeting Mode (decline during video calls), Off Time schedules, STIR/SHAKEN attestation checks, and carrier/geolocation rules.

Database & Query Tools:

- Instant Query: Performs real-time online checks across multiple API endpoints (e.g., PhoneBlock). - Spam Database & Reporting: Integrates downloadable spam databases (such as DNC) and allows manual or automatic number reporting.

Management & Security:

- Regex Engine: Supports complex pattern matching for numbers and text. - Backup & Import/Export: Export/import complete setups or individual rules as JSON. - Privacy & Permissions: Runs fully offline without data collection unless online features (like Instant Query) are explicitly used.
