About this app

👑 Throne for Android — sing-box-Powered Proxy Client

Throne for Android is an Android proxy client built around the Throne networking core and sing-box ecosystem. Formerly distributed through the ThroneForAndroid repository under its original maintainer, the project is now hosted by the ThroneProj organization. It focuses on advanced proxy management, flexible routing, subscription automation, and compatibility with the wider Throne ecosystem.

🌐 Supported Proxy Protocols

Throne supports numerous proxy and tunneling protocols through its integrated networking core.

• VLESS, including XHTTP and REALITY configurations • VMess • Shadowsocks • Trojan • Hysteria 1 and 2 • TUIC and Juicity • AnyTLS and ShadowTLS • Mieru and Snell v4/v6 • NaïveProxy • SOCKS4, SOCKS4A, and SOCKS5 • HTTP and HTTPS proxies • WireGuard and AmneziaWG • TrustTunnel and MASQUE • OpenVPN and OpenConnect • SSH proxy connections

Actual support depends on the selected protocol, core version, and configuration.

📥 Subscriptions & Profile Management

Manage proxy servers and subscription groups with options designed to align with Throne Desktop.

• Import supported subscription links and individual configurations • Support for common formats such as Shadowsocks, Clash Meta, v2rayN, and sing-box outbound configurations • Configure group-specific subscription options and filters • Schedule subscription updates and review change reports • Test URLs after subscription updates • Use front or landing proxies where supported

⚠️ Subscription import extracts supported outbound nodes. Routing rules and other advanced settings from source subscriptions are not automatically imported.

🎯 Smart Routing & Proxy Chains

• Configure custom routing rules using supported Xray and sing-box formats • Use GeoIP and GeoSite data when required by a configuration • Set routing rules based on Wi-Fi network identifiers • Chain compatible proxy servers • Use automatic selector profiles to rank servers and switch to the best available option

☁️ Cloudflare WARP

Throne includes WARP-related functionality for supported configurations.

• Register a WARP identity using supported WireGuard or MASQUE methods • Use the integrated WARP mode for traffic routing • Combine compatible routing rules and proxy profiles

📊 Connection Testing & Monitoring

• Test URLs, IP addresses, countries, and connection speeds • Run bulk server tests with live progress • Compare latency and identify faster or unavailable servers • View live traffic, active connections, and core logs through the built-in dashboard • Switch servers from the notification area • Use home-screen widgets for convenient controls

🧩 Configuration Editor & Backups

The application includes a JSON editor with schema checking, formatting, and completion. It also supports the desktop .thrbackup backup format, allowing compatible backups to be saved, shared, or synchronized through WebDAV.

📱 Android & System Compatibility

Throne for Android is designed for Android devices and supports Android TV features, including D-pad navigation and server switching. The project uses sing-box-based networking components and includes an in-app updater for supported GitHub builds.

📜 License

Throne for Android is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0). Included core components and dependencies retain their respective licenses and notices.

⚠️ Important

Throne is a proxy client, not a VPN service provider. It does not supply guaranteed working servers or subscriptions. Use trusted configurations and review diagnostic logs before sharing them, as logs may contain sensitive connection information.

What's new

v2.0.5Nov 2, 2026
  • Add per-group routing profiles 1 Add routing profile import from subscriptions 2 Add AmneziaWG mode to WARP Add compact profile rows and compact group cards 3 Add Allow apps to bypass VPN 4 Allow excluding countries in the Auto Selector 5 Start the Auto Selector as soon as enough profiles work Reconnect to the replacement when a subscription update removes the running profile 6 Add Clear test results and Clear traffic statistics to the profile menu Show Xray logs in the app log Fix Xray profiles stalling for about a minute after a network change Fix Xray XHTTP connection leak Fix connections not recovering after a network loss Fix AmneziaWG on devices with UDP GSO, again Fix the per-app proxy switch not turning off Fixes and Improvements
  • 1: A group can connect with its own routing profile instead of the one chosen in the Routing menu. Set it in the group's settings.
  • 2: A subscription that provides a routing profile (Happ format) can save it as its group's own routing profile on every update. Turn it on with Use the subscription's routing profile in the group's settings. DNS settings from the subscription are never used.
  • 3: Turn them on in Settings › Appearance. Compact rows show only the profile's name and latency; compact group cards show a usage bar and the time left instead of the subscription link and details.
  • 4: Off by default, in Settings › General. When on, apps that ask can connect outside the VPN, such as Google push notifications (FCM). An always-on VPN with Block connections without VPN ignores it.
  • 5: Put ! before a country code in Only countries to leave that country out, e.g. !RU uses every country but Russia.
  • 6: When an update replaces the running profile, Throne connects to the single new profile with the same name and type. If there is none, it stays stopped.
