Download from APKMirror inside the app
Until now an APKMirror update opened its page in the browser. Switch this on and the app downloads and installs it itself, like any other source – plain APKs and .apkm bundles, through Shizuku, the standard installer or root. Off by default: Settings → Sources, under APKMirror.
Read the warning before turning it on. APKMirror does not allow programs to download bypassing its pages – the site is funded by the ads you don't see this way. Cloudflare may temporarily block the site for your internet address, in the browser too. APKMirror may cut APKUpdater off from its update check for every user, not just you. And it may stop working at any moment. The app downloads one file at a time with pauses between requests, says who it is rather than posing as a browser, and after the first refusal leaves the site alone for ten minutes.
Save APKMirror files to the download folder
With the option on, APKMirror cards get the Download button too. Bundles are saved as .apkm.
Variant choice
When one APKMirror build comes in several variants, the app now takes the one that suits your screen, preferring a single universal APK.
Split packages
XAPK and APKM installs now take only the parts for your processor, and files that are not APKs stay out of the installer. Under root, a split package now goes to the standard installer instead of failing.
