👻 Ghostlane — VPN Client with WebRTC Tunneling

Ghostlane is an open-source VPN and proxy client for Android and other platforms, built with Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose. Its distinctive feature is olcRTC, which can carry a network tunnel inside a WebRTC video-call session, alongside conventional proxy and VPN protocols.

🌐 olcRTC & WebRTC Tunnel

Ghostlane's olcRTC engine transports traffic through WebRTC media/data sessions. The project supports several public meeting services as transport carriers, including Yandex Telemost, WB Stream, Sber SaluteJazz, VK Calls, and Jitsi.

olcRTC rooms can display occupancy information, support room changes, and report connection problems such as unavailable rooms or invalid keys.

The app also supports an experimental connection option that can establish the encrypted olcRTC connection in a way similar to Chrome's WebRTC behavior.

⚡ Supported Protocols

Ghostlane supports multiple networking protocols through different engines:

VLESS configurations can use TCP, gRPC, WebSocket, HTTPUpgrade and other supported transports. Hysteria2 supports Salamander obfuscation.

📥 Server Lists & Subscriptions

Ghostlane is a client, not a VPN service. Users provide their own server lists or subscriptions.

Configurations can be imported through:

• Subscription/server-list URLs • QR codes • Local files • "ghostlane://" links • Supported share links

Server lists can contain multiple servers and are grouped by provider. Users can sort servers, filter them by protocol, refresh lists automatically, and remove individual locations or complete lists.

⚙️ Smart Connection & Routing

Smart Connect can test available transports and select a working connection when multiple transports are provided. Depending on the configuration and platform, olcRTC can also be used as an alternative transport.

Routing modes include:

• All traffic through the tunnel • Bypass Russia • Bypass Iran • Bypass China • Only selected/blocked destinations through the tunnel • Custom domain and IP rules

Routing can be used with TUN or proxy modes where supported.

📱 Android Features

On Android, Ghostlane uses the system VPN interface and also provides proxy functionality.

Additional Android features include:

• Split tunneling / per-app routing • Always-on VPN support • Quick Settings tile • SOCKS5 proxy • Automatic reconnection • Network migration handling • Watchdog-based connection recovery • Android TV support

The app can also show connection time, traffic statistics, latency information and diagnostic logs.

🔐 Privacy & Open Source

Ghostlane states that it requires no account and includes no analytics or tracking. It is free to use and does not sell VPN access, server configurations or subscriptions.

Ghostlane is released under the MIT License. The project also includes third-party components with their own licenses, including sing-box, Xray and other dependencies.

⚠️ Important: Ghostlane is a VPN/proxy client, not a VPN provider. It does not automatically provide guaranteed servers or connectivity. Users need compatible server lists or configurations, and actual performance depends on the selected server, protocol and network conditions.
