Sozo

An open-source Flutter app for finding, watching, reading, and keeping track of films, series, anime, manga, and light novels. The name is Japanese for creation or imagination.

Runs in three modes, Video, Manga, and Novel, each with its own sources and its own player or reader. Adds an Android TV interface, Chromecast, torrents, watching together, and native desktop builds.

Sozo hosts nothing. It is a client: you choose which sources to install, and it plays what they return.

How sources work

Sozo ships with no content of its own. It ships the runtimes; you install sources into them.

- Sozo cloud sources, served by the backend. - CloudStream: .cs3 plugins from CloudStream repositories, run on device. - Aniyomi: anime extension APKs, run on device. - Manga: Mihon and Tachiyomi extension APKs, run on device. - Mangayomi: JavaScript sources, including every novel source, run on device in a JS runtime.

Add a repository from Profile → Sources → Add source, install what you want, and pick it from the source switcher on the home screen. Novels come from Mangayomi repositories specifically, since that is the only ecosystem that publishes them.

A source that stops working almost always stopped working on its own: sites move, shut down, or start blocking. Sozo reports which of those happened rather than printing the exception. Profile → Sources → DNS can route name lookups through Cloudflare, Google, Quad9, AdGuard, or Mullvad when a provider blocks a site by refusing to resolve it. That is not a VPN: it does not hide your traffic or change your IP.
