About this app
Android emulator that emulates older Android firmware versions.
Run classic Android firmware — HTC Sense, TouchWiz, MIUI, AOSP — on a modern phone. No root, no PC.
AEmulator boots a real Android 2.3–4.4 system image straight from a firmware file you already have: a recovery ZIP, an Odin archive or a Google factory image. It translates the old ARM code with a patched QEMU, emulates the kernel’s binder, draws with your phone’s GPU and plays sound through Android’s audio stack — everything runs inside a normal app.
✨ Features Import almost any firmware format: CWM/TWRP ZIP, Samsung Odin .tar.md5, Google factory .tgz, system.img, OTA system.new.dat.br Vendor skins work as shipped: HTC Sense, Samsung TouchWiz, MIUI, AOSP Hardware graphics through the GL bridge, sound, touch and multitouch, network with a modern TLS proxy Shared memory-card folder for APKs, music and photos Material 3 Expressive interface in 18 languages Free and open source (GPL-3.0)
What's new
- 1. Emulation 1.1. New native arm64 engine: Android 5.0–17 and GSIs (8–17) run directly on the phone; Android 2.3–4.4 runs through QEMU. 1.2. 64-bit firmware support; 32-bit programs inside them run through qemu-arm. 1.3. Full Android 8 support, including GSIs. 1.4. zygote and mediaserver crash much less often (binder fixes, system_server deadlock fixed). 1.5. /system is read-only for the guest, so precompiled framework code is no longer lost. 1.6. Faster first boot of Dalvik firmware (Galaxy S III: 104 s → 59 s). 1.7. Option for hardware 32-bit execution (AArch32) without a translator, with QEMU as the fallback. 1.8. GLES 1/2/3 through SwiftShader.
- 2. Firmware and vendors 2.1. TouchWiz: ro.tvout.enable=false, ro.SecEDS.enable=false and binder patches. 2.2. Qualcomm firmware: removed qti_permissions.xml, com.qti.dpmframework.xml, com.qualcomm.location, qcrilmsgtunnel, dpmserviceapp, DiracAudioControlService, DiracManager. 2.3. Infinix (AOSP / XUI / XOS) and Tecno (AOSP / HiOS) detected by Android version. 2.4. Sony: notification LED emulation. 2.5. Fixes for MIUI, HTC Sense, TouchWiz, Xperia and AOSP. Tested on Nexus 4, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S II/S III, Redmi 1S, Desire HD, One M7, Nexus 5X, Phh 9, AOSP GSI 17.
- 3. Import 3.1. New formats: 7z, RAR, .pac, yaffs2, rfs, EROFS, super.img, APEX, .tar.gz.
- 4. Features 4.1. Internet works in more firmware. 4.2. Sound fixed; microphone, camera, accelerometer and vibration added. 4.3. Navigation bar: Back, Home and Recents work on every firmware. 4.4. ADB over the local network and a built-in ADB terminal. 4.5. Three-dot menu in a running system fixed: screenshots, screen recording, VNC, SMS, airplane mode, APK install and more. 4.6. The menu button can be moved in a running system. 4.7. Option to hide the LED indicator: in defaults for new systems and per system.
