About this app

BitChord - A modern YouTube music client with clean aesthetics inspired from Apple Music

Playback - Search, browse and play anything available on YouTube Music. - Hi-Res lossless audio — FLAC/ALAC from a configured module source, with YouTube Music as fallback. - Gapless playback with true crossfade, adjustable 0–12s. - Automix [Beta] — DJ-style transitions with beat-matching and tempo-stretching. - Offline downloads — save tracks with embedded metadata. - Local music library integration. - Background playback via a proper foreground media session.

Experience - Animated album canvas — motion artwork on the now-playing screen. - Word-synced lyrics — word/syllable-level highlighting from multiple sources. - Dynamic, artwork-driven theming — Material palette extracted from album art. - Frosted-glass UI — Telegram-style translucent bars via Haze, Material 3 theming. - Connectivity & Accounts - Sign in with your Google account for personalized content. - Discord Rich Presence — in-app login, live track/artist/album and progress. - Scrobbling to Last.fm and ListenBrainz. - Pluggable sources — add, edit, test and health-check module sources.

Controls & Tweaks - Per-network audio quality — separate quality ceilings for Wi-Fi and mobile data. - Playback speed control (0.5×–2.0×) and skip silence. - Sleep timer — fixed presets or "stop after this track". - System equalizer integration. - Stats for nerds — codec, bit depth, sample rate, and more on the now-playing screen.

What's new

v1.9.1Nov 6, 2026

Player: a new Player theme setting (Default, Simple, Legacy), and Disable blend effects to show player icons, text and menus in plain white. - Albums and playlists: optional full-screen cover that runs to the edges of the page. - Content Preferences: hide Recents, videos, Top Picks for You or Find Your Mood from Home, and show music videos as square thumbnails. - Playback: Prefer music-only version plays music videos as their audio, with the next track converted ahead so Automix and crossfade still work. Automix: Automix overview in the song menu shows the upcoming transition. - Liquid Glass: Better Performance for Glass, a lighter frost for phones that struggle with the full effect. Addons: a quality picker for addons that offer more than one quality. Song matching: Direct Source Stream now checks length and artist before playing, so it no longer plays a different song or a 30-second preview. - Bit-perfect: no more dropouts with the screen off on direct USB and AAudio exclusive, and the DAC is released during long pauses and resumes from the exact spot. - Performance: less lag while the player slides over a page. - UI: the search field stays readable on glass, a new earphones output icon, and refreshed loading placeholders. - General stability fixes across the app.
