OpenTagViewer

An Android app that lets you view and track your official Apple AirTags.

Apple does not provide an official app or webpage for Android, so OpenTagViewer fills that gap. It is a polished Android UI wrapper around the Python FindMy.py library, which is a derivative of the OpenHaystack project.

Features

- View the current live location of your AirTags (or other FindMy devices) on Android. - Track and automatically save historical location data for your AirTags — a feature notably missing from the iOS Find My app. - UI customisation options. - Light and dark modes.

What it works with

- AirTag: supported. - Third-party trackers that work with Apple Find My (Chipolo, Pebblebee, Mili MiTag, eufy, and similar): should work. - AirPods and other Find My accessories: works where Apple stores a usable key. Lightly tested. - Self-made tags (OpenHaystack, Macless Haystack): works; requires creating an export via CLI or Wizard. - Your own iPhone, iPad, or Mac: partial coverage. - A tag shared with you through Apple's own sharing: not supported. Only the account that owns a tag can export it. - Tile, Samsung SmartTag, Google Find My Device trackers: not supported. Different networks with nothing in common with Apple's.

How to use

Requirements:

- An Android phone with OpenTagViewer installed. - A free Apple Account with two-factor authentication enabled via SMS or Trusted Device. - One or more supported devices.

Two routes:

1. Read them from iCloud directly in the app (only the Android phone is needed). 2. Export a zip on a computer and import it (requires a computer once during export).

Use the iCloud login method if you are the owner of official FindMy-compatible devices that appear in the official FindMy app. Use the zip method to create an export on a computer and import the .zip file in the app.
