About this app
Your Spotify + YouTube Music library, on your phone, in FLAC.
Stash mirrors your Spotify and YouTube Music libraries to your Android phone. You connect each service, pick the playlists and mixes you want, and Stash either downloads them as real FLAC files for offline playback or surfaces them as a streaming index so you can stream tracks without filling up your storage. Same library, two modes, one tap to switch.
There's no Stash account. No subscription. No ads. No analytics. Your credentials live on your phone, encrypted, and the only network traffic Stash makes is to Spotify and YouTube themselves.
Home screen — Daily Mixes, sync stats, supporter pill Now Playing — FLAC 24/44 lossless
Online vs Offline Stash has two modes. They decide what a sync actually does.
Offline mode Sync downloads each track as a FLAC file (or the closest lossless source available) and stores it on your phone. Once a track is on disk you can play it forever with no connection. It costs storage but no recurring data.
Online mode is for people who don't want the storage hit. Builds a streamable local index of your library — Almost no storage, but you need a connection to play.
The FLAC backbone - QBDLX — a program that downloads streams directly from Qobuz. - arcod These are run by people doing it for the love of it — mostly solo, mostly free. They're the whole reason Stash can hand you a real lossless file instead of a re-encode. If Stash earns a spot on your phone, send a little of that their way: a thank-you, a tip, whatever you've got. We stand on their shoulders. 🙏
Library - Spotify + YouTube Music in one unified library — liked songs, playlists, daily mixes, every Spotify mix worth syncing - Bulletproof matching — finds the right version of a track 99% of the time - Last.fm scrobbling, optional, off by default - Wrong-match flag — if Stash picked the wrong version, tap once from Now Playing and it queues a re-search - Likes and History mirroring — When enabled, each track you like & stream in Stash lands in your Spotify & YouTube accounts.
Playback - 5-band equalizer with presets, bass boost, virtualizer - Crossfader - Normalizer - Synced lyrics, pulled from LRCLIB and scrolled with the track
Privacy - No Stash servers. No accounts. No analytics. No third-party crash reporters. - Cookies stored on-device, encrypted with AES-256-GCM via Google's Tink - The only network requests Stash makes are to Spotify and YouTube directly - GPL-3.0, every line of code is open source
What's new
- Your music, in the cloud Settings › Accounts & Sync › Cloud storage: connect Dropbox, OneDrive or Google Drive and play the music you keep there. - Dropbox and OneDrive: pick your music folders and Stash keeps them up to date. Google Drive: pick the songs you want in Stash. - Cloud songs play, download and show up in your library like everything else. Library gets a Cloud filter. - Sign-in and your files go straight between your phone and the cloud service. Stash's servers never see them. - Save to Google Drive. With Google Drive connected, the menu on any downloaded song, album or playlist has Save to Google Drive. Or turn on Back up my downloads under Cloud storage and new downloads are copied there on their own.
- More lossless from Tidal - Tidal now plays and downloads full CD-quality FLAC for songs it has in lossless. Many of these used to come through as AAC. - New: Settings › Audio & Quality › Prefer Tidal AAC while streaming. Streams Tidal's AAC instead of FLAC when Tidal has the song, to save data. Downloads aren't affected. - The daily Tidal & Qobuz allowance is now 300 songs a day, so there's more to go around for everyone. Lyrics - Long lines now wrap onto the next line instead of shrinking to fit. Thanks @mvanhorn! - More songs get word-by-word lyrics, from a new source. Thanks @ParaliyzedEvo! - Stash no longer works through your whole library looking for lyrics in the background. It looks them up for the songs you play and download. Want it to check everything? Settings › Playback › Lyrics › Re-check library for word-synced lyrics. It runs slowly on Wi-Fi and you can stop it any time.
- Fixes - Your queue comes back after Stash has been closed for a while, including radio stations and songs started from an artist or album page. - Now Playing: tap the quality line to see which service is playing the song (Qobuz or Tidal). "Resampled" now shows there instead of on the main screen. Stash makes far fewer background requests to Last.fm.
