Some ISPs block sites such as Discord by reading the site name in the first packet of an HTTPS connection (DPI). SplitGate gets around that on your phone, without root and without any server: it sets up a local "fake VPN" with VpnService, cuts the connection's first packet into pieces so the filter cannot read the name, and asks for DNS over encrypted DoH. Your traffic is not routed through any other server; it is processed on the phone and goes out normally. Only the DNS lookups go to the DoH provider you pick.
