Description
Running Google Messages on a tablet lets you pair it with your phone. However, there's no way to do this on a second phone. This LSPosed module tricks Google Messages into thinking your device doesn't support sending or receiving SMS, making it behave like a Wi-Fi-only tablet and prompting you to pair with another phone. Important: This won't merge SMS from two phones. One phone remains the primary device, where all messages are sent and received. Why use it? The module is ideal for international trips when you prefer to leave your primary phone at home. Keep the primary phone plugged in and connected, while pairing a secondary phone via this module. Better than Google Messages for Web Google Messages in "tablet" mode is essentially a Progressive Web App (PWA) for Google Messages for Web (https://messages.google.com/web). You can open it in Chrome, tap the 3-dot menu → "Add to home screen" → "Install," and get a launcher icon like any app. I've tried this, but it doesn't stay alive in the background—you stop getting notifications shortly after closing it and must reopen the app to check messages. The official Google Messages app in tablet mode (enabled by this module) runs persistently in the background, delivering reliable notifications. You can still use SMS Install a different SMS app to send normal SMS messages, as long as you apply this module only to Google Messages. Works with any app Nothing in this module is specific to Google Messages. It simply tells any targeted app that your device lacks SMS support by hijacking calls to TelephonyManager.isSmsCapable() and the newer TelephonyManager.isDeviceSmsCapable(), always returning false. Installation 1. Ensure prerequisites are installed: - Magisk - LSPosed 2. Download DisableSMS.apk and install it. 3. LSPosed will prompt you to enable the module. Do so, and select the "Messages" app from the list (it appears first if installed). 4. If you opened Google Messages before installing, clear its app data. 5. Launch Google Messages and follow the prompts to pair with your primary phone. You can run LSPosed modules without root, but this hasn't been tested—compatibility is unknown.
