✈️ exteraGram — Experimental Telegram Client

exteraGram is an experimental, unofficial third-party Telegram client for Android based on the official Telegram for Android source code. It adds additional customization and client-side features while keeping compatibility with the Telegram ecosystem.

exteraGram enhances the standard Telegram experience with additional interface and messaging options, including:

The project also incorporates ideas and features from other Telegram clients and open-source projects, including Catogram, Nekogram and OwlGram.

The client provides additional ways to personalize Telegram, including:

• Custom themes and interface elements • Extended navigation options • Alternative icons and UI components • Additional chat and media controls • Expanded localization

exteraGram follows Telegram for Android's localization system while providing additional strings through its own translation workflow.

🌍 Localization

The project uses Telegram for Android translations as its base and provides additional exteraGram-specific translations through Crowdin.

🔧 Build & Source

exteraGram is based on official Telegram for Android sources and can be built using Android Studio or Gradle.

Users building the project must provide their own Telegram API ID and API hash, Maps API key and application signing key as described by the project documentation.

exteraGram is designed as an Android Telegram client and follows the platform requirements of its Telegram-based codebase.

⚠️ Project Status

The exteraGram repository was archived by its owner on January 28, 2026 and is now read-only. It should therefore be considered an archived/experimental project rather than an actively maintained Telegram client.
