About this app
Liseur is an open-source EPUB books reader for Android, and a client for calibre-web and Komga: a modern reader that is equally at home with the files on your phone and with your own book server.
👀 Reading * Paginated EPUB rendering through the Readium toolkit, full screen by default * Tap right to go forward, left to go back, the middle for the controls; volume keys work too * A whole page always fits the screen, with no stray scrolling to catch the last line * Four reading themes (Light, Sepia, Dark, Black), independent of the app's own theme * Four bundled open fonts or the publisher's own, plus size, line spacing, margins and brightness * Time left in the chapter, time left in the book, page or percentage, and a scrubber with chapter ticks
🪧 Marking up and looking up * Highlights in four colours, notes, and bookmarks with a corner ribbon * A notebook of everything you marked in a book, exportable as Markdown * Search the whole book, with snippets and jump-to highlighting * Definitions for any selected word, or a hand-off to an offline dictionary app. Online lookups are off until you turn them on, and you choose which Wiktionary edition or mirror answers them
📚 Your library * Index folders of EPUBs, covers and all * Books you are using sort to the front; finished ones get a tick * Pull to refresh picks up whatever changed behind the app's back
🌐 Your own server * calibre-web: one screen sets it up with URL, username and password, and Liseur works out the catalog, download rights and sync token * Komga: paste the server address and an API key * Your server's books merge into the same library with a cloud badge; tap one to download and open it * Reading positions sync both ways, through calibre-web's Kobo protocol or Komga's read-progress API * Remove the copy on the device, or delete the book from the server
🎉 Free software * No trackers, no analytics, no proprietary dependencies. The only network traffic is to the book server you configured and, if you switch online definitions on, to the dictionary site you chose.

What's new
- This release adds support for importing custom TTF and OTF fonts, swapping page-turn sides for one-handed reading, connecting to custom OPDS catalogs, and syncing reading progress with KOReader sync servers. It also introduces start dates and weekly highlights in reading stats, improves bulk download stability, and resolves page jump navigation issues.
- ●Reading ・Import custom TTF and OTF fonts directly into typography settings. Imported fonts reflow books immediately and remain selectable alongside bundled font families (#108).
- Choose which side of the screen turns the page forward in Settings → Reading to comfortably read one-handed with either thumb ([#114](https://github.com//pull/114)).
- Track when you started a book and view reading activity over the last 7 days directly on the reading stats dashboard ([#111](https://github.com//pull/111)).
- Access reading appearance controls like line spacing, margins, progress displays, and page-turn animations directly in settings without expanding an Advanced section ([#112](https://github.com//pull/112)). - Enable Colour E-ink mode to preserve palette colors on color e-paper displays, remove redundant animation transitions, and open control sheets as popups without background dimming ([#109](https://github.com//pull/109)).
- ●calibre-web ・Sync reading positions across devices using a KOReader sync (kosync) server paired with Grimmory or custom server setups (#101).
- Connect to any custom OPDS catalog address to browse and download books, with optional KOReader sync server pairing for position tracking ([#103](https://github.com//pull/103)).
- ●Fixes ・Prevent page jumps from pulling you back to your previous location when navigating to section anchors inside books structured as a single large file (#107).
- Limit concurrent transfers to two connections and extend read timeouts during bulk library downloads to prevent stalls and dropped connections on self-hosted servers ([#105](https://github.com//pull/105)). - Fix row selection background rendering for series pickers on e-ink screens.
