Smolish Mobile: the unofficial app for Smolish

Smolish is a short video platform. You swipe through bite-sized videos called Smols, follow people and chat with friends. This app puts the whole site in a fast, native-feeling Android app with extras the browser can't do.

Everything Smolish has, right in the app • Smols feed: endless vertical videos, one swipe at a time • Friends feed: only Smols from people you know • Like, comment, bookmark and share any Smol • "Not interested": tune your feed • Profiles: follow creators, browse their clips and pinned smols • Search and hashtags: find people and topics • Messages: end-to-end encrypted chats, including group chats • Notifications*: with your own preferences *Currently push notifications are not avaible. Stay tuned for updates.

What the app adds • Stays logged in, so you don't have to sign in every time • Login popups open right inside the app • Video downloads saved to Downloads/Smolish • Picture-in-picture: keep watching while using other apps • Fullscreen video and autoplay, and the screen stays on while a video plays • Status bar and gesture bar match the site's colors • Pull down to refresh on any page except the feed • Links to other sites open in your browser

Offline mode Download a pack of 5 to 100 smols from your feed*: the videos, creator names, avatars, captions, likes and comment counts. With no internet, the app opens them by itself in a copy of the Smols screen, and goes back online when your connection returns. You can turn it off or force it on in Settings.

*Currently, Offline Mode doesn't work. Please be alert and we will fix it.

Seamless mode WebView audio can start glitching after a few videos. The app fixes it by quietly reloading every 3 videos. With seamless mode on, that reload looks like a tiny lag instead of a loading screen.

Holiday icons and animations The app icon and the launch animation change for the holidays: Halloween, New Year / Christmas, Valentine's Day, April Fools and Easter. Pick your region* (Russia, Western countries, or no religion) so Easter and Christmas land on the right dates. Enter your birthday (no year needed) for a party hat on your day. You can also lock any icon you like.

*We are working on Muslim support with Ramadan.

Meet Smol Smol is our* mascot that bounces around while things load. If Smolish is down, it naps in a nightcap. If you have no internet, it searches for wifi with a flashlight that you charge by shaking your phone.
