Android TV boxes ship with a perfectly capable browser engine — the Android System WebView, a Chromium-based component Google maintains and updates at the OS level. Most "TV browser" apps ignore it and bundle their own 100+ MiB copy of Chromium.

Page dropdowns open as a proper chooser. A dropdown used to be drawn by the engine as a list anchored under the control, opening off the bottom of the screen and scrolling where the remote could not follow. It is now presented the same way the file chooser is: centred, D-pad native, one press to choose, Back to dismiss without changing anything. Groups are folded into the label and the current value is ticked.
Only real dropdown controls are affected — detection is exact, not a guess, so nothing that merely resembles a menu is captured. Menus a site builds itself are unchanged. Controls inside embedded frames are covered too.
