• ⚠️ Read before upgrading: the package name changed — back up your vault first The vault has been heavily reworked and is no longer compatible with vault data from 1.x. To make sure an overwriting install cannot destroy your data, version 2.0.0 uses a new package name and installs as a separate app alongside the old one.
• Version is now 2.0.0; the package name (application ID) changed from com.sequl.zenfile to com.sequl.zenfile2 Why: the vault encryption architecture was reworked and no longer reads old vault data. A new package name lets both versions coexist, so installing over the old one can never wipe your existing vault Back up first: In the old version: Vault → Backup / Restore → Export backup In the new version: Vault → Backup / Restore → Import backup Uninstall the old version only after you have confirmed the new one is complete. ⚠️ Sandbox-encrypted files live in the private app directory and are erased on uninstall — never uninstall the old version first Because the package name changed, per-package permissions such as Shizuku must be granted again in the new version 🔐 Vault Multiple password profiles: bind a different password profile to each folder. Encryption and decryption happen entirely on your device, and the master password and salt never leave it Remote encrypted folders: link an rclone crypt folder on your cloud drive and browse it with plain names, with streaming playback for audio and video and no need to download the whole file In-place encryption: files are encrypted where they are, so the location and folder structure stay unchanged. The browser adds a 🔐 badge and other apps only see ciphertext names New help page: the "Activated" badge in the top-right corner of the vault is now a Help button covering highlights, basic operations, compatibility and a dedicated in-place encryption section (10 languages) ⚙️ Settings changes Security settings has moved from the vault home page to the Settings page 🐛 Fixes and improvements Fixed all files in a remote encrypted folder showing the unknown-format icon in the browser Fixed remote encrypted audio and video failing to stream and images failing to render (happened when a cloud drive does not report the file size and the decrypted size became 0) Fixed thumbnails never loading in remote encrypted folders Improved streaming performance by removing a redundant network request per chunk — playback and seeking of remote encrypted media are much smoother Remote encrypted folders now display in plain text when opened directly from a remote connection Long-press menu can now clear the home directory; fixed the pin / unpin labels
