🚫 ByeByeDPI — Local DPI Processing for Android

ByeByeDPI is an open-source Android application that runs ByeDPI locally and redirects device traffic through the local service. It provides a configurable way to work with ByeDPI directly from Android, without connecting your traffic to a remote VPN server. 📱

⚙️ Local ByeDPI Engine

Instead of relying on a remote VPN service, ByeByeDPI runs the ByeDPI engine locally on your device. Android's VPN mode is used as a traffic-redirection mechanism so that selected device traffic can be processed by the local ByeDPI service.

🔧 Flexible Configuration

ByeByeDPI allows you to save lists of command-line parameters and adjust the ByeDPI configuration according to your network environment. Different configurations can be stored and reused when needed.

The project documentation notes that achieving stable operation may require adjusting the available parameters for your particular network and target resources.

🔀 Split Tunneling

Use per-app split tunneling to control which applications are routed through the local service. This provides more flexibility than simply applying the same routing behavior to every application on the device.

🚀 Automatic Startup

Enable automatic startup to launch the service when the device boots. After the required Android VPN permission has been granted, ByeByeDPI can automatically start in the selected VPN or Proxy mode according to your configuration.

📺 Android TV & Android BOX

ByeByeDPI includes improved compatibility with Android TV and Android BOX devices, making the application suitable for supported large-screen Android environments as well as smartphones and tablets.

💾 Import & Export

Export your settings for backup or transfer and import them when configuring the application on another device. Saved parameter lists can also make it easier to maintain multiple ByeDPI configurations.

🩺 Diagnostics

Recent versions include a dedicated diagnostics screen that displays application settings and allows the diagnostic report to be copied. This can be useful when investigating configuration or compatibility issues.

📂 Built-In File Manager

On devices where the standard Android system file picker is unavailable, recent releases provide a built-in file manager for working with files and configuration data.

🔌 VPN & Proxy Modes

ByeByeDPI can operate through Android's VPN mode or its Proxy mode, depending on the selected configuration. The application itself does not establish a connection to a remote VPN server.

🔐 Important Privacy Note

ByeByeDPI is not a conventional VPN service. It does not send your traffic to a remote VPN server, does not encrypt your traffic as a VPN would, and does not hide your IP address. Its purpose is local traffic processing through ByeDPI rather than providing VPN anonymity or server-based IP routing.

🧩 Open-Source Components

The project integrates the ByeDPI engine together with hev-socks5-tunnel. The source code is publicly available and the main project is released under the GPL-3.0 license.
