Opens both unprotected books and files with Readium LCP protection.

Main book formats: fb2 (and fb2.zip), ePub (including the main features of ePub3), Kindle (aka azw3, aka mobipocket), pdf, comics (cbr/cbz). Other formats: rtf, doc (MS Word), html, plain text.

When reading in a foreign language in FBReader, you can look up translations of unfamiliar words in the dictionary (you can choose from a large list of dictionaries, but we recommend Dictan, which allows you to show the translation in a pop-up window on top of the main text).

FBReader Premium has the ability to translate entire sentences. You can choose DeepL or Google as your translator.

FBReader allows you to synchronize your library (the books themselves, reading positions, bookmarks) with the FBReader Book Network, a network storage system based on Google Drive™. Synchronization is disabled by default, you need to enable it in the settings.

FBReader has a lot of settings. You can choose fonts (or add your own), customize colors, layout, how links are displayed, and much more. The screen brightness can be adjusted while reading (by moving your finger up and down along the left edge of the screen). You can separately customize color schemes for day and night.

Books can be downloaded (or purchased) online without leaving the program. The online library offers several catalogs to choose from, but you can add your own catalogs (OPDS).

If you already have e-books, copy them to your device and read. Or add them to the FBReader Book Network via the web interface (https://books.fbreader.org/), then they will immediately become available on all your devices.
