LocalTube

LocalTube is a fork of NewPipe Extractor that includes a local Android application for self-hosting an HTTP server (localServerApp). It allows you to host, view, search and broadcast content from streaming platforms directly from any device on your local network using a standard web browser.

LocalTube turns NewPipeExtractor's stateless library into a private, self-hosted web server for video streaming.

🌟 Main characteristics

Decentralized Local Server : Runs a lightweight, parallel Java HTTP server on your Android device (default port 8080), providing a modern, responsive web experience.

Play on different devices: Connect to the server from any device on your local Wi-Fi network (PC, laptop, smart TV, tablet) using a local IP address (for example, http://192.168.1.100:8080).

Watch History: Tracks the videos you've watched locally on your device using a secure SQLite database (HistoryDbHelper) without the use of external telemetry or tracking.

HTML5 Player and Streaming Proxy: Redirects video/audio streams through a local server, bypassing client-side signing/throttling restrictions, and supports range headers (rewind/fast forward) directly inside native HTML5 browser elements.

Multi-service support: Using an extractor core, the system is designed to support content extraction from YouTube, SoundCloud, PeerTube, Bandcamp and media.ccc.de.
