About this app
🛡️ Shroudly — DPI Bypass and Connection Tool
Shroudly is an open-source network tool designed to help access websites and applications affected by Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) filtering. Instead of providing remote VPN servers, it reshapes connection packets and uses encrypted DNS to help prevent certain filtering systems from identifying or blocking connections.
🌐 How It Works
- TCP packet manipulation: Reshapes the initial connection packets that may expose a website's TLS SNI or HTTP Host information. - Encrypted DNS: Resolves domain names over encrypted DNS to help reduce interference caused by forged DNS responses. - Local proxy: Uses a local proxy to handle supported browser and application traffic. - Automatic operation: Its autopilot can detect connection obstacles and enable appropriate techniques automatically.
Shroudly does not route traffic through its own remote VPN servers. Connections still go directly to their intended destinations; the tool focuses on techniques designed to bypass specific forms of filtering.
⚙️ Advanced Features
- Advanced packet-level mode for supported Windows and Linux configurations. - Dedicated handling for applications that ignore normal system proxy settings. - Discord app mode and games-and-apps mode on supported platforms. - Automatic restoration of previous proxy settings when the application stops, crashes, or the user logs out. - A native connection engine designed to operate across supported platforms.
Advanced mode and individual application integrations vary by operating system. Some modes may require administrator privileges or additional platform-specific components.
📱 Platform Support
The project supports Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android. On Android, Shroudly operates through a local VPN interface so supported device traffic can pass through its engine. Desktop features and requirements differ by platform, so check the project's release notes for the capabilities of the version you install.
🔒 Privacy and Security
Shroudly is a traffic-filtering bypass tool, not an anonymity network. It does not provide a remote VPN exit server, and it does not automatically conceal your public IP address from destination websites. Encrypted DNS and packet manipulation address particular filtering techniques rather than every possible network restriction.

⚠️ Important Disclaimer
Effectiveness depends on the network, filtering method, operating system, and selected mode. Shroudly cannot guarantee that every blocked website or application will work. Use it responsibly and follow applicable laws and network policies.
A lightweight approach to DPI bypass without a remote VPN service.
What's new
- Telegram and other apps with their own protocol, sleep and wake, and an app that tells you why.
- – Telegram and apps that are not web traffic
- Apps with a protocol of their own (Telegram's MTProto and the like) get Shroudly's techniques too, when a network recognises them by their first packets. The technique that works is remembered for that server. • An honest word when nothing can help: if a network blocks an app's server addresses themselves, Shroudly says so in one line, names the app, and tells you that the app's own proxy setting or a VPN is the way. It never keeps retrying a dead address, and it says nothing while you are simply offline. • Local network devices (printers, NAS, routers) and company or VPN names are never touched.
- – Sleep, wake and restarts
- Waking the computer no longer restarts protection. After sleep, a lid close or a clock change, Shroudly no longer mistakes the pause for a stuck engine, so connections and downloads in progress (a Discord update, for example) are not cut. • Nothing goes around Shroudly while the engine restarts: programs wait a moment and go through it, and the system proxy stays in place. • On Android, sleep (Doze) and clock changes never end protection, and with Android's "Block connections without VPN" Shroudly keeps retrying instead of leaving the phone offline.
- – Shroudly tells you why
- When Advanced mode, Discord app mode, Games and apps mode or Microsoft Store apps would help but are not turned on (declined, turned off by hand, no administrator, a game's anti-cheat running), Shroudly now says so in one line and tells you what to do, instead of staying silent. • When another program changes the system proxy, the log now says what it was changed to and which program it was, when that can be told. • A site that cannot be reached is logged once, then at most every half hour, not every minute. • Explanations no longer name any country
