• Multi-View no longer silences the channel you are already watching. On the ExoPlayer engine, opening the Multi-View picker used to kill the sound — and coming back started the stream again from scratch. The picture still pauses while you choose, because nothing is being drawn, but the sound carries straight on however long you leave it, and coming back picks up where you were instead of starting over.
• Films and shows on your own media server now show their own background picture. Jellyfin, Emby and Plex each store a proper wide backdrop for a title and the app was never reading it, so behind the spinner you got a look-alike it had gone and found in a film catalogue — or a tall poster stretched across a television. Your library re-checks itself once, the next time you open the app, to go and collect them; after that they are simply there.
• Recording a channel from an M3U list works now. Those channels are not one continuous stream — they are a list of short pieces, one after another — and recording one used to save a 0 KB file that would not play. The app now follows the list as it goes, saves each piece as it arrives and joins them into one file. A few kinds are still beyond it, and those say so plainly before anything is saved: the moment you press Record, or the moment you book one, rather than at three in the morning when it was due.
• Also new Searching the Sports page now looks across the whole week. A team playing four days out is found without touching the day buttons, and the day you were on comes back the moment you clear the box. Results are in date order, soonest first. Holding OK on a remote can no longer answer a question before you have read it. A held button repeats, and the repeat was being counted as a second press — so a box could answer itself on whatever was already highlighted. Every dialog in the app is protected now, all sixty-one of them, not just the ones in Settings. A film or show holds its own artwork while it loads, dimmed with the spinner over it, instead of going black — and it comes back if the video stalls part way through, so a buffering pause looks like the app waiting rather than the app breaking. It uses the wide backdrop, not a stretched poster. A Copy button on your Log Key — Weirdblastoise's request. After Settings › Export Logs, one tap puts the six-character key on your clipboard so you can paste it straight into a message. Phones and tablets only; there is nothing on a TV to paste into. Mark as Unwatched. A film ticked as watched drops off Continue Watching, which is right when you meant it — but nothing in the app could take the tick off again, so one ticked by mistake was gone for good. Both kinds of film page now offer to remove it, and it keeps your place. Four more sets of profile pictures — Gradients, Orbits, Shapes and Waves. These are the ones the Roku app has had, so a profile made on a Roku now shows the picture you actually chose, and anything you pick here shows up properly over there.
