Fokus

Focus Launcher is an Android launcher designed for those who want a simpler, more user-friendly default experience. It's focused on quick access to the time, weather, and core apps, with minimal visual clutter.

Current Feature Set

Focus keeps the home screen intentionally minimalist, with a large clock and date, battery indicator, optional weather, customizable shortcuts for favorite apps, and a customizable shortcut bar on the right. Basic interactions are based on gestures: swiping up opens the panel, swiping down opens the notification/status panel, and swiping left/right launches shortcuts.

The app drawer is optimized for quick launch. Search and categories let you quickly narrow down results, and if only one app matches your query, Focus can launch it directly. Long pressing an app in the panel opens actions such as adding to the home screen, renaming, hiding, and deleting.

Built-in customization and organization features let you edit apps on the home screen, shortcuts on the right side of the screen (including what launcher shortcuts do, not just open apps), hide or rename apps, and manage launcher data from Settings. The Weather app uses Open-Meteo without an API key and caches results for 30 minutes. On Android 15+ (API 35+), Focus also supports Private Space with lock/unlock controls and a separate section for private apps when unlocked.

First launch experience

When you first launch Fokus, it walks you through an orientation process, including a greeting, optional location permission for weather, setting the default launcher (only if needed), setting up the home screen, setting up shortcuts for gestures, and quick tips on using gestures.
