A free and lightweight streaming front-end for Android.

NewPipe does not use Google libraries or the official YouTube API. Instead, it parses websites or uses internal endpoints to extract the required information. This lets you use the app without a YouTube account or Google Play Services. Additionally, NewPipe is completely free and open-source.

While NewPipe started as a YouTube client, community contributions have added support for multiple video and audio services over the years, making it incredibly versatile.

Description

NewPipe works by fetching data directly from the official APIs of supported services when they are public and open (e.g., PeerTube). For proprietary or restricted platforms like YouTube, the app bypasses limitations by parsing the website or utilizing internal, non-official APIs. This architecture ensures you never need an account to access content.

Since the NewPipe project is free and open-source, neither the app nor its Extractor component rely on proprietary frameworks like Google Play Services. This makes NewPipe perfect for custom ROMs or devices running completely Google-free.

Note

When importing a database into the official app, always ensure it has been exported from an official NewPipe release. Importing databases from unofficial forks or modified APKs may break functionality. This action is not officially supported; proceed only if you understand the risks.
