APK Installer is a free tool that allows you to install Android applications that use formats that are not recognized by the standard package installer included with the operating system. It uses standard XAPK packaging to support Google's new APK distribution system, called APK sharing. This application works in both directions, so you can back up installed applications and install private copies on your smartphone, regardless of the packaging format. APK Installer includes the following features: - Automatically searches for all applications installed on your Android and creates backup copies. - Install any APK or XAPK from the memory of your smartphone. The way you install and download apps has changed over time. Not long ago, installing an app using an external APK was a simple matter of clicking on it and letting the package installer that came standard with your Android do the work. This was until other standards appeared that complicated the process. .OBB data (a file containing additional media files within an app, such as video or audio) was found to be a way to exceed the maximum size Google allows for uploading APK files to its platform. This change made manual installation of apps more difficult, as these additional files had to be installed separately in specific folders on the device. Therefore, the most convenient solution was to combine the APK and OBB data into one file and install using an external tool. This is how the XAPK standard was born. Later, Google began using a dynamic distribution system, the so-called Android App Bundle. When a developer publishes an app to Google Play, it is "split" into several parts called split APK files. Since then, many apps have consisted of a base APK and a few others containing information about the app's language, supported screen sizes, and required processor architecture. This way, when a user downloads the app in question, they install only those “components” that are necessary for the app to run correctly on their device, saving bandwidth and costs for both parties—the user and the distribution platform itself. The main purpose of Apk Installer is to allow you to continue installing Android apps manually without wasting time searching for information about file formats and destination folders. When creating backups, the app packs all these files (APK + split APK + OBB, if any) into a single XAPK file. So when installing private copies of your applications, you only need to find one file and install it without worrying about formats and standards.
