Public repository on GitHub
Visibility must be public. At least one published release
Created via GitHub Releases (not only tags). The latest release must not be a draft or prerelease. APK assets in the latest release
The latest release must contain at least one .apk file. GitHub's auto-generated source artifacts are ignored. Discoverable by search / topics
Repositories are fetched via the public GitHub Search API. Topics like android, mobile, apk help ranking. Having stars makes it more likely to appear in sections. If your repo meets these conditions, RepoStore can find it through search and show it automatically—no manual submission required.
🧭 How RepoStore Works Search
Uses GitHub's /search/repositories endpoint with Android-focused queries. Applies scoring based on topics, language, and description. Filters out archived repos. Release + Asset Check
For candidate repos, calls /repos/{owner}/{repo}/releases/latest. Checks the assets array for .apk files. If no APK is found, the repo is excluded from results. Details Screen
Repository info: name, owner, description, stars, forks. Latest release: tag, published date, changelog, assets. README: loaded and rendered as "About this app". Screenshots: detected from repository contents. Install Flow
When user taps "Install": Downloads the APK with progress indicator. Delegates to the system package installer. Records installation in local database. Shows "Open" button for installed apps.

What's new
- ▼Redesigned app pages "About this app", "What's new" and the README are collapsible rows with a chevron that rotates on expand. Long content is clipped until you tap: descriptions to 4 lines, release notes to 6, the README to 8. Previously a repo with a substantial README made the page enormous.
- ▼Similar apps Every app page now has a "Similar apps" shelf. Matching is based on the repository's most distinctive topic, falling back to its language, and skips generic tags like android, kotlin and hacktoberfest that nearly every repo here carries. The section stays hidden when there are no results.
- ▼Featured and Trending cards Gradients are now generated across eight hues by scaling lightness in HSL, replacing the hand-picked palettes that had been duplicated in two adapters. Contrast now behaves consistently on every hue. Cards also carry a new concentric-circle motif tinted per card.
- ●Fixes ・Bottom navigation overlap — the fragment container had a hardcoded 56dp bottom margin against an 80dp Material 3 bottom bar, hiding the last row of every list. ・Stale update checks — the App Updates screen now forces a fresh release fetch instead of reading cached data. ・Wrong APK on some devices — corrected ABI mapping (x64 → x86_64, x32 → x86) and switched asset matching to token boundaries. ・Version comparison — pre-release suffixes are now handled, and comparison is Long-safe. ・Developer page search — in-flight jobs are cancelled and results de-duplicated, fixing flicker and duplicate entries. ・Thread safety — caches in GitHubRepository are now thread-safe, and the negative-release cache actually works. ・Re-tapping the active tab no longer rebuilds the fragment and loses your scroll position.
