Hacker's Keyboard

Created by Klaus Weidner, Hacker’s Keyboard is a free, open‑source input method built exclusively for advanced Android users, developers and terminal enthusiasts. Unlike mainstream mobile keyboards which focus on gesture typing and word prediction, this lightweight software delivers a complete five‑row desktop‑style layout on your touchscreen. It supplies essential keys that most default Android keyboards leave out, including Ctrl, Alt, Esc, Tab, directional arrow keys and a permanent number row. All punctuation marks stay in their familiar desktop positions, which greatly lowers typing errors for technical commands . This tool gains its greatest popularity among Termux and SSH users, exactly the crowd who work with Linux shell scripts, command lines and penetration‑testing tools on mobile phones. Multitouch support allows users to run standard keyboard shortcuts such as Ctrl+C, Ctrl+L and Ctrl+Z smoothly without physical external keyboards. It supports dozens of human languages and alternative typing layouts, and carries almost no extra background overhead. Without fancy decorative themes or tracking functions, Hacker’s Keyboard stays simple and reliable. For anyone who frequently writes code, edits configuration files or runs terminal commands on an Android device, it turns a smartphone into a handy portable workstation and solves one of the biggest pain points of mobile Linux operation.
