▶️ Flow — Privacy-Focused YouTube & YouTube Music Client

Flow is a free and open-source Android client for YouTube and YouTube Music, built with Jetpack Compose and Material 3. Its distinctive feature is FlowNeuro, a local recommendation engine that learns from viewing behavior directly on the device without requiring an account or sending recommendation data to a server.

Flow provides a full-featured video experience powered by Media3/ExoPlayer:

SponsorBlock can automatically skip supported sponsors, intros, outros and filler segments. DeArrow can replace supported clickbait titles and thumbnails with community-provided alternatives, while Return YouTube Dislike provides dislike information.

Flow includes a dedicated music experience with:

🧠 FlowNeuro — Local Recommendations

FlowNeuro analyzes viewing behavior locally to create personalized recommendations.

It can consider signals such as:

• Videos watched and skipped • Likes and dislikes • Searches • Watch duration • Time-of-day and weekday/weekend patterns • Topic fatigue and content diversity

The recommendation dashboard lets users inspect what the engine has learned and why content was recommended. The complete recommendation profile can also be exported or imported.

🔒 Privacy & Local Data

Flow does not require a Google account and states that its recommendation engine operates entirely on-device. The project also states that it does not use ads, analytics or tracking, with application data stored locally.

Users can export or delete their local data and import subscriptions or history from NewPipe.

📱 Android

Flow requires Android 8.0 or newer and uses Jetpack Compose and Material 3 for its interface. Stable and nightly/debug builds are available, with nightly builds intended for testing and potentially containing bugs.

Flow is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0).

The project's GPLv3 terms also explicitly cover source code such as the FlowNeuroEngine, meaning projects incorporating Flow's source code must remain open source under GPLv3 and cannot use it as proprietary or closed-source software.
