📦 MonadBox — Modern Mihomo Client for Android

MonadBox is an open-source Android proxy and VPN client based on Mihomo, refined from YumeBox with a focus on privacy, safer defaults, localization and a modern adaptive interface for both phones and tablets.

🌐 Mihomo-Based Networking

MonadBox uses Mihomo as its core networking engine, providing support for Mihomo-compatible proxy configurations and Clash-style networking features.

Users can manage proxy profiles and route Android traffic through the Mihomo engine using the system VPN interface.

🔀 Proxy & Routing

The Mihomo-based architecture provides flexible traffic management, including:

• Rule-based routing • Global and direct modes • Proxy groups • Domain and IP routing rules • Application-based routing • DNS configuration • TUN-based device routing • Custom proxy profiles

Available protocols and transports depend on the Mihomo core and the configuration supplied by the user.

MonadBox is designed with an adaptive-first Android interface that works across different screen sizes.

The project requires Android 8.0 (API 26) or newer.

🔐 Privacy

Privacy and safer defaults are among the main goals of this fork.

According to the project's privacy notice:

• No third-party analytics SDKs are bundled • No third-party crash-reporting SDKs are bundled • No cloud update SDK is used to upload app-usage data • Runtime logs remain locally stored unless explicitly exported • Installed-app lists are processed locally • Profile files and runtime logs are not uploaded to a MonadBox cloud backend

Permissions such as VPN, notifications, installed-app visibility and camera access are used for specific local features such as VPN operation, app routing and QR-code importing.

⚙️ Profiles & Diagnostics

MonadBox provides tools for managing proxy configurations, monitoring connection status and working with local profiles.

Logs can be inspected on the device and explicitly exported or shared through Android's standard sharing mechanisms when the user chooses to do so.

The project also emphasizes confirmation, preview, rollback and recovery for higher-impact actions.

🧩 Upstream & Components

MonadBox is an independent fork derived from YumeBox and built around Mihomo. It acknowledges YumeBox, Mihomo and other open-source projects and contributors.

Because it incorporates upstream code and third-party components, individual parts of the application may remain subject to their respective licenses.

📜 License

Repository-owned and fork-derived MonadBox source files are licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 only (AGPL-3.0-only).

Third-party dependencies, synchronized upstream source code and remote assets retain their own licenses. Public release binaries are also subject to the project's licensing policy.

⚠️ Important: MonadBox is a client, not a VPN service or server provider. Users need compatible Mihomo configurations or proxy servers. Connection quality depends on the selected server, configuration, network and external services.
