Freech

A decentralized imageboard built on Freenet (Hyphanet), with no single point of control. Moderators are independent parties, each identified by a USK (Updatable Subspace Key). They are akin to nostr relays, except there is no server — just an identity on Freenet. Their role is to receive posts and publish an index of approved ones, filtering out garbage. Posts from all moderators are transparently mixed, as if it is one big imageboard. A post can be submitted to several moderators at once for reach; the CHK key is the post's identity, so the same content submitted independently deduplicates naturally on Freenet.

Moderator power is limited by design: because moderators are opt-in, censorship has no network effect. The system does not rely on one person keeping a server running — as long as someone takes up the role, the board lives.
