GitLab: updates that could not be installed
Some GitLab projects do not attach the APK as a release asset. Aurora Store, for example, only has the auto-generated source archives there and links its APKs from the release description instead. The update was still listed, but with an empty link — so Update did nothing and Download failed. The release description is now parsed as a fallback, and those relative links are resolved to a form that actually serves the file. - Any update that genuinely has no downloadable APK now opens its release page so you can grab it manually, instead of silently doing nothing.
Install results were never reported
Success and failure messages for installs were never shown — not once. The subscription captured the update list while the screen was still loading (i.e. empty), so it could never match the app and silently showed nothing. - The most visible symptom: updating an app that was installed from a different source (a signature conflict, which Android forbids) looked like the app downloaded the update and then just gave up in silence. The error was detected correctly all along — it simply never reached you. You now get a proper message with the reason. - Note that the signature conflict itself cannot be fixed: Android does not allow replacing an app with a build signed by a different key. It is now an honest error instead of silence. - An install could also hang on "installing" forever if the system never delivered the confirmation dialog. That case is now reported as an error.
Note on Play Protect The "Harmful app blocked" warning has been lifted — Google accepted the appeal, and recent builds install without it.
