About this app
USB File Manager puts the files on your USB drives in your hand. Plug a USB flash drive, hard drive, SSD or card reader into your phone or tablet through an OTG cable, and read and write NTFS, exFAT, FAT32 and ext4 drives directly: no formatting, no root, no computer. Made for anyone who moves photos, videos and documents between a phone and a USB drive.
Every drive, every format • Read and write NTFS, exFAT, FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, ext2, ext3 and ext4 • MBR, GPT and drives without a partition table; used and free space for every partition • Several drives and partitions open at once, also through a USB hub • Every slot of a multi-card reader appears as its own drive
Full file management • Tabs: keep up to 12 folders open and switch with one tap • Copy, move, rename, delete and create folders on the drive • Import files or whole folders from the phone; export files to any folder on the phone • Open a file from the drive in another app of your choice, without copying it first • Share files from the drive • Sort by name, size or date, and filter the current folder by name • Properties: exact size, number of files and folders, file system, capacity, free space • Rename the volume label • Two panes side by side with drag and drop on tablets and foldables
Copies you can trust • Operations queue: copies run one after another, with live progress, speed and time left • Pause, resume or stop any operation • Name conflicts: replace, skip or keep both, for one file or all • Space check before a copy starts • Drive unplugged during a copy: finished files stay and no partial file is left behind • Safe eject: the app tells you when the drive can be removed
Care for your drives • Drives that were not closed properly are checked and repaired when connected • Write-protected drives open read-only • Optional: keep the readable part of a damaged file when copying • Drive card warnings for read errors and for drives that may hold less than their stated size • Built-in help when a drive is not detected: OTG setting, adapters, powered hubs, step-by-step guide
Light, dark or system theme, wallpaper colors on Android 12 and newer, and 46 languages.
Free vs Pro Every feature is free. The free version shows ads and needs an internet connection. Pro is a one-time in-app purchase that removes all ads and lets the app work offline and with ad blockers. Pro adds no other features.
Privacy Files on your drive and phone are never uploaded; they leave the device only when you share them or open them in another app. The app has no storage or location permission: phone files are reached only through the system file picker you open. Ads, analytics and crash reports use the internet; consent is asked where the law requires it, and ad privacy choices can be changed in Settings where your region requires them. All connections are encrypted.
Requirements • Android 7.0 or newer with USB host (OTG) support • An OTG cable or adapter; large hard drives may need a powered USB hub • USB access is granted per drive in the system dialog • Notifications (Android 13 and newer) are asked for once, to show that another app is reading a file from the drive • Formatting, partitioning and encrypted drives are not part of this app
Support Use the in-app support button: Settings > Help & about > Contact Support.
