NoSlop

NoSlop is a privacy-first Android app for consuming content and communicating with people — without servers, trackers, or algorithmic manipulation. (A Kotlin Multiplatform port lives in mvp/ but is not yet part of the build; app/ is what ships.)

It combines a tracker-free content aggregator (RSS/Atom from YouTube, TikTok, and the open web) with a serverless encrypted social layer powered by Tor and our daisy-chain-gossip framework. Your identity is a cryptographic keypair that lives only on your device — no account, no email, no phone number.

Tor routing. Mesh traffic always goes over Tor — there is no clearnet path for it. Feed, media, search and stream-resolution traffic is routed through Tor whenever the Route clearnet through Tor setting is on, which is the default; turning it off is a deliberate user choice. This now includes the update check against noslop.me / the GitHub releases API and the APK download itself: both wait for Tor to finish bootstrapping and abort rather than fall back to a direct connection. If Tor never comes up, the update check is skipped and told to you, not silently routed around.
