About this app
A fork of NuvioTV, rebuilt to survive on a low-RAM Android TV box.
Same Stremio-addon playback core, capped memory, and self-updating from GitHub Releases.
Why this fork exists
Many Android TV sticks and boxes sold today are low-RAM devices, and stock NuvioTV is tuned for devices with more headroom. On a low-RAM box, its buffer sizing, unbounded concurrent addon queries, and heavier features push it into the kernel's low-memory killer well before anything throws an OutOfMemoryError. This fork fixes that class of device without adding features.
What's different from upstream
- Device tiering uses physical RAM instead of a heap report. - Playback buffer on low-RAM devices has a hard 250 MB ceiling instead of relying on the heap ratio. - Concurrent addon stream queries are capped at 3 on low-RAM devices and 8 elsewhere, instead of being unbounded. - Torrent streaming, JS plugins, in-app trailers, and launcher sync are stripped in the Lite Edition only. They remain in the full and playstore flavors. - Updates arrive in-app from this fork's GitHub Releases instead of through the Play Store or manual APKs. - The settings UI is unchanged, with no new toggles. Everything is build flavor and internal tuning.
Lite Edition
Tuned for the lowest practical RAM footprint on low-RAM Android TV boxes, where the OS and launcher already eat most of the memory. It preserves the core loop — browse, pick a source, reliable playback — and trades away heavier features to stay alive under memory pressure.
- Torrent streaming dropped, making the APK about 23 MB smaller with no 41 MB torrent co-process. - Plugins and JS runtime, in-app and external trailers, launcher-channel sync and boot receiver, and Sentry all disabled. - Installs as a separate com.nuvio.tv.lite package ("Nuvio Lite") alongside a standard NuvioTV install, so nothing is overwritten.
Features
- Browse a library of content from Stremio addons. - Pick a source and play. - Works on low-RAM Android TV devices without being killed by the system. - Self-updates from GitHub Releases. - No new settings or toggles compared to upstream.
Requirements
- Android TV device (low-RAM boxes and sticks supported) - ARMv7, ARM64, or x86 device - ADB/USB debugging optional, for speeding up cold start after sideloading

What's new
- Synced with upstream NuvioTV (0.9.4-beta)
- Movies now get skip segments: end credits and post-credits scenes are detected, and skipping stops before a post-credits scene. Post-play recommendations now fire from the credits. - Long-pressing the selected subtitle track turns subtitles off. - Subtitle requests no longer carry stream credentials off the stream's host. - Switching episodes under MPV no longer saves the new position against the previous episode. - MKV playback follows nested SeekHeads so ExoPlayer can seek in more files. - FFmpeg downmix distortion and unbounded buffer growth fixed. - Rotten Tomatoes ratings now show certified-fresh / rotten and verified-hot / stale icons. - Addon results now render a page at a time instead of all at once. TMDB collection ordering fixed. - Anime identification reworked: TVDB resolves Simkl anime IDs, and AniSkip episode numbers are mapped per anime season. AniSkip can now be switched off. - The unaired next-episode card is hidden while post-play recommendations are showing. - Grid focus no longer snaps back after "See all", and search no longer reopens the keyboard on back. - Text direction and emoji handling corrected in more places. - CloudStream extensions keep working under R8. - Updated Turkish, Spanish, Spanish (LatAm), Polish, Dutch, and Slovak translations.
- Improved
- Stream lists no longer recompose on every focus move, improving performance on live video. - Simkl's per-season anime cache is now bounded, preventing unbounded memory growth during long sessions.
