Hard to reach portions of some legacy app you're running on your Android TV (/flipphone)? Feeling the need for touch input on your Android TV (/flipphone)? Or just looking for an alternative to the famous Mouse Toggle App for your TV (/flipphone)? MATVT solves all of the above. Unfortunately, it's not on the Play Store, and there are no plans to launch it there either. If you'd like to see it on the Play Store, please let me know in the issues tab (any support is also graciously accepted). So what does this app do? MATVT is intended for users running Android TV / Flipphone (Android version 7+, with limited functionality on Android 6 flipphone) who have a remote with at least the following: - DPAD (for up, down, left, right, and center buttons) - A spare key to toggle mouse mode (we call it the Boss Key) - Color buttons (Red, Green, Yellow, Blue) - Info button After installing this app, you'll get a mouse cursor that can move around, perform clicks, and do left/right/up/down swipes using your remote—no extra hardware needed (no pairing with an Android phone, laptop, etc.). How to use? - DPAD handles movement and single clicks (with long-click support, though it's not very reliable) - Color buttons are for swiping: Red and Green for up/down, Yellow and Blue for left/right - Info button instantly toggles mouse visibility (switch between mouse and no mouse on the fly) - The mouse auto-disappears after a short while and reappears when you press a relevant button - Toggling mouse modes resets the cursor position - The mouse wraps around your TV edges, so you can roll instantly from top to bottom (or sides) - Mouse movement is momentum-based: holding a key longer increases speed or sends multiple swipes in scroll mode - For remotes missing the above buttons, use the Boss Key to toggle between mouse mode, scroll mode, and DPAD mode. By default, this is the mute key, but you can override it in the settings. If you skip this and enable the accessibility service first, the app won't have the necessary permissions—it'll consume your input, making your remote unresponsive. If this happens, check the FAQ - After granting draw-over permission, go to Accessibility settings and enable the MATVT service - Now press the Info button, and your mouse is ready
