About this app
A private, self-hosted, end-to-end encrypted note-taking app. One owner, many devices. The server stores only ciphertext — it is encryption-blind by design.
Features
- Markdown notes with live preview - Dark theme, orange accent, resizable sidebar - Offline-first: full local cache, syncs opportunistically - End-to-end encryption (XChaCha20-Poly1305 + Argon2id key derivation) - Conflict resolution: server detects stale writes and returns both versions; you pick the winner - Trash bin with restore and permanent delete - Self-hosted sync server (Shelf + SQLite, single compiled binary)

What's new
- Self-destructing notes: optional per-note timer (1h/1d/7d/30d or custom date) that removes the note client-side when it expires, syncing across devices. - Linux quick capture: press Ctrl+Alt+N from anywhere to shrink the app into a small floating box and jot a note without switching focus. Requires keybinder-3.0; X11/XWayland only for now. - Android share sheet: share text or a link from any app straight into a new LibreNotes note.
- Fixes
- Docker server image: /data is now created and owned by the non-root user at build time, fixing a permission crash on startup. Existing volumes need a one-time chown fix. - Android: fixed the app opening in a separate task instead of the existing one after the share sheet was added.
