🤖 OwpenGram — Multi-Server Telegram Client

OwpenGram is an unofficial, open-source Telegram fork for Android that brings a multi-server messaging experience to the familiar Telegram interface. Use the official Telegram network, connect to the built-in OwpenGram server, or add a compatible self-hosted MTProto server — all from one application. 📱

🌐 Multi-Server Architecture

Unlike a conventional Telegram client, OwpenGram allows accounts to be associated with different compatible servers. Choose the server when signing in and keep accounts, cached data and server identities separated inside the same application.

Available server options include:

• Telegram — the official Telegram network • OwpenGram — the project's built-in public server • Custom — any compatible server you or your community operate

🏠 Connect Your Own Server

Add a compatible server using only its "host:port" address. OwpenGram can communicate with the server to retrieve its public identity information, including the RSA key, data-center ID, name, description and icon.

Advanced settings also allow server operators or experienced users to review and adjust server-specific parameters when required.

🔗 Quick Server Import

Server operators can provide an "owpg://addserver" deep link that opens the Add Server screen with the server address already prepared. The link is intentionally limited to the server address, while server identity information is obtained directly from the specified server.

👥 Multiple Accounts

Keep accounts from different server environments inside a single application. OwpenGram supports up to 50 accounts in total across all servers, while accounts connected to self-hosted servers are handled separately from Telegram's own account limitations.

🔄 Server Information Updates

Server name, description and icon can refresh automatically when the server list is displayed, allowing operator-side branding changes to appear without manually adding the server again.

💬 Familiar Telegram Experience

OwpenGram is built from the Telegram for Android codebase, providing the familiar interface and messaging workflow users already know while adding its multi-server architecture and custom server management features.

🔒 Server-Based Data Separation

Accounts connected to different servers maintain separate server-scoped cached peers, files and identifiers. This helps keep data associated with different server environments isolated within the application.

📦 Ready to Use

OwpenGram includes a public project server directly in the client, allowing users to try the multi-server functionality without first deploying their own infrastructure. Users who prefer full control can later add a compatible self-hosted server from the same interface.

🛠️ Open Source

OwpenGram is based on the open-source Telegram for Android project and is released under the GNU GPL v2 or later license. The project also provides its own compatible server implementation for users who want to operate their own messaging infrastructure.

The current Android build supports devices running Android 5.0 and newer and provides a universal APK covering ARMv7, ARM64, x86 and x86_64 architectures.
