About this app
BudgetNotes is a simple offline-friendly budgeting app with four tabs:
Home — a quick snapshot: total budget, spent, savings, and your top expenses across everything. Notes — create a Section for a time period (weekly/monthly/yearly, e.g. "June 2026") with a total budget, then add Notes inside it like Groceries or Fuel, each with its own budget. Log expenses by just typing "150 Milk" and hitting Add — duplicate items auto-merge so you can see what's costing you most. Dues — track money lent or borrowed with friends/banks as a running ledger. Add a lender, then log transactions ("5000 medical help") tagged Borrowed(-) or Repaid(+), with dates — it shows what's still pending at a glance. Todos — a daily checklist. Unfinished tasks automatically carry over to today so nothing slips through.
Everything is saved right in your device (no account needed), works offline, supports light/dark modes.
1. Set up your first budget period
Go to Notes → tap + New section → choose Weekly/Monthly/Yearly, give it a name (e.g. "June 2026"), set a total budget. This is your spending envelope for that period.
2. Add categories
Inside that section, tap + Add note to create things like Groceries, Fuel, Utilities — each gets its own budget carved out of the section total.
3. Log expenses
Open a note and type naturally: 150 Milk, then hit Add. Do this each time you spend — the app tallies everything and shows your top expenses on Home.
4. Track money owed
Go to Dues → + Add lender → pick Lent (they owe you) or Borrowed (you owe them) → name the person. Then log transactions like 5000 rent tagging it Borrowed(-) or Repaid(+), with a date. It keeps a running pending balance.
5. Stay on top of your day
Go to Todos → type a task, hit Add, tap the circle to check it off. Anything left unchecked carries over to the next day automatically.
6. Check in anytime
Home gives you the big picture — total spent, savings, biggest expenses — across everything at once. That's it — no sign-up, no internet required after the first load. Toggle dark mode anytime with the sun/moon icon up top.
