Permission Pilot

Permission Navigator is a brand new app designed to help you review apps and their permissions.

With each update of the Android system, permission management becomes more and more complex. Android displays permission information in different locations, which makes the review process more difficult:

Permission Pilot lists all permissions in one place, giving you a complete overview of app permissions.

Two views are provided: you can view all the permissions requested by a single app, or you can view all the apps that request a specific permission.

App Tab All installed apps, including system apps and work profile apps. Click on any app to list all the permissions requested by that app and their status, including the permissions displayed in "Permission Manager" and "Special Access Permissions". This will also include network permissions and shared user ID status!

Permissions tab All permissions that exist on your device, including those displayed in "Permission Manager" and "Special Access Permissions". For ease of browsing, permissions have been pre-grouped, such as contacts, microphone, camera, etc. Click on a permission to display all apps that have requested that permission.

You can use free text to search for apps and permissions, and sort and filter based on different criteria.

Overview A summary dashboard showing the number of apps in each category - privacy, security, installation source, etc. Each category row navigates directly to the filtered list of apps.

Permission Monitor You will be notified when an app update adds new permissions or changes existing ones. The Permission Monitor checks your apps after each update and creates a report if there are any changes.

Data Export Export app or permission data in Markdown, CSV, or JSON format.

Manifest Viewer Browse the raw application manifest with searchable category columns. See which apps can discover other installed apps.
