🛡️ Aether+ — Advanced Multi-Core Android Connectivity Client

Aether+ is a free and open-source Android connectivity client built around the Aether networking engine, with additional support for Psiphon and Tor. Developed as an independent Android fork, it combines encrypted tunneling, endpoint discovery, flexible routing, and multiple connection cores in a native Kotlin and Jetpack Compose interface.

The app can operate as a device-wide VPN through Android VpnService, as a local proxy for compatible applications, or as a combination of supported networking cores when additional routing layers are useful.

🌐 Multiple Transport Options

Aether+ supports several networking methods through its Aether engine, including:

• MASQUE over HTTP/3 and HTTP/2 • WireGuard • Nested WireGuard (gool) • Smart automatic transport selection • Advanced HTTP/2 and transport controls • TLS fragmentation and other configurable transport options

🔎 Adaptive Endpoint Discovery

The built-in endpoint scanner provides several discovery modes designed for different situations:

• Turbo — focuses on finding a responding endpoint quickly • Precise — compares available candidates and selects an appropriate endpoint • Ultra — performs a real traffic check before accepting an endpoint • Manual endpoint selection • Custom IP range support

This allows users to choose between faster discovery and more thorough endpoint validation.

🔗 Aether, Psiphon & Tor

Aether+ can use three different networking cores individually or in supported chains:

• Aether • Psiphon • Tor • Psiphon over Aether • Tor over Aether • Tor over Psiphon • Tor over Psiphon over Aether

Chain modes can provide additional routing flexibility, although they may introduce extra latency and some combinations have limitations such as restricted UDP support.

📱 Flexible VPN & Proxy Modes

Aether+ offers multiple ways to route traffic:

• Full-device VPN mode • Proxy-only mode • Per-app split tunneling • Include/exclude application rules • Custom routing controls • Optional LAN sharing through SOCKS5 and HTTP proxies

The optional kill switch and IPv6 leak-protection settings provide additional traffic-control options.

⚙️ Advanced Controls

Users can configure and monitor important connection parameters, including:

• DNS settings • MTU • Reconnection behavior • Endpoint selection • Transport parameters • Routing and split-tunneling rules • Live traffic information • Session history • Connection diagnostics

The app also provides a Quick Settings tile and home-screen widget for convenient access.

🎨 Native Android Experience

Aether+ uses Kotlin and Jetpack Compose for its Android interface and supports both English and Persian, including RTL layouts. It is designed for Android 8.0 (API 26) and newer and supports ARM64 and 32-bit ARM devices.

🔐 Privacy & Transparency

Aether+ is an open-source project released under the GNU AGPL-3.0-or-later license. The project clearly distinguishes between connectivity functionality and anonymity guarantees: using a VPN, proxy, Psiphon, or Tor does not automatically guarantee anonymity or undetectable traffic.

📌 Important: Aether+ is an Android fork/distribution and is separate from the upstream Aether command-line engine. Connection availability depends on the selected transport, included components, network conditions, and the installed APK build.
