• ZenFile v3.0.0 (English) 3.0 is ZenFile's biggest UI overhaul yet. Navigation moved from the old "top tab bar + side drawer" to four tabs: Categories / Files / Transfers / Settings, now at the bottom by default. Many features have new locations after upgrading; your previous navigation preferences migrate automatically on first launch.
• ✨ New Features Brand-new 4-tab navigation, now at the bottom by default — Categories / Files / Transfers / Settings. Top tabs and drawer entries are reorganized for a layout closer to mainstream file managers and friendlier to one-handed use; the bar position can still be switched in Settings. The "Me" page was retired; Settings is now the 4th tab — rendered inline instead of pushed as a full-screen route, so switching is faster, and the left drawer no longer duplicates it. Startup crash forensics — based on Android ApplicationExitInfo, fully automatic (zero user action). Native channel awaits before runApp() were removed, fixing startup-stage crashes / ANRs. Version updates page — GitHub version detection with in-app download and install, plus a custom mirror URL field. The entry moved from Settings to the left drawer. Text editor — open a blank editor straight from the toolbox or drawer, with a new "import text file" option in the overflow menu. Video playback — always-on progress bar switch (player overflow menu), speed and volume memory, and a persisted background-play preference. Image viewer — three fit modes: width / height / actual size. Global search — the search field moved to the top and can now jump directly to feature entries. Category page customization — an optional custom entry card and a new 2-column layout option. Clipboard "paste and clear" — clears the clipboard right after pasting.
• 🎨 UI & Interaction Category page: top spacing reset, card radius tightened (14 → 8), square cards at 3 columns — denser and cleaner. Unified thin border on top backgrounds; browse action bar moved to the bottom with auto collapse / expand. Empty tab bar is hidden when only one tab is open. Left drawer: "Settings" entry removed; the update entry icon changed to avoid confusion with the in-page retry button. Right drawer: no more double dividers when "Frequent features" and "Favorites" are both expanded. Video thumbnails are no longer covered by the center play icon (list & grid; audio cover icons kept). Global search hint updated to "Search files, apps and settings". 🐛 Bug Fixes Fixed auto cache cleanup deleting diagnostic data along with cache — crash reports and debug logs were wiped, causing a repeated "abnormal exit" notice on every launch and losing the crash scene. Cleanup now preserves Backups / crash / Receive / debug log, and "Settings → Clear cache" shares the same implementation as auto cleanup. Crash notice logic reworked — it now requires that the report really exists in the public archive and was never notified, so each crash is reported only once; non-fatal Dart errors are no longer misreported as abnormal exits. Fixed the version check hanging forever on "Checking for updates..." — reading the response body had no timeout, which is most likely to trigger on unstable networks (half-open connections hang indefinitely). Full-chain timeouts added. Fixed falsely reporting "up to date" — the old logic fell back to "latest" when the local version could not be read, without making a single network request. It now reports the failure honestly. Version check failures are no longer silent — classified into network / timeout / rate limit / HTTP error / malformed data; "up to date" now also shows the remote version and check time, proving the request really succeeded. Fixed the version check ignoring the system proxy — Dart only reads process environment variables, which are always empty on Android; it now reads the system proxy setting. Automatic channel fallback — falls back to web-based detection when the official API is unreachable, and supports a custom mirror URL. Fixed the network entry on the Transfers page not opening the remote directory. Fixed the always-on video progress bar causing a full-screen translucent overlay.
