📂 Strata — Advanced Android File Manager

Strata is a free, open-source Android file manager designed for everyday file operations and advanced users. It combines a dual-pane interface, archive management, APK and DEX tools, code editing, network storage access and an encrypted vault in one application.

📁 File Management

Manage files and folders with flexible navigation and powerful tools:

• Dual-pane file browsing • Drag and drop between folders • Search by file name or content • Batch renaming, bookmarks and recycle bin • File permissions, links and storage access • Split, merge and encrypt files • Root and Shizuku-based access where supported

🗜️ Archive Management

Open and extract common archive formats, including:

• ZIP, 7z and RAR • TAR, GZ, XZ and Zstandard (ZST) • Create ZIP, 7z and TAR archives • Protect supported archives with passwords

📦 APK & Android Development Tools

Strata includes tools for inspecting and modifying Android applications:

• View APK details and install split APK packages • Sign APKs using supported signature schemes (v1–v3) • Manage signing keys • Clone apps with a different name and icon • Edit DEX and Smali files • Decompile Java code • Edit Android manifests and resources

Use these tools only with applications and files you are authorized to modify.

🌐 Network Storage & File Sharing

Connect to remote storage and transfer files through supported network services:

• FTP and SFTP • SMB network shares • WebDAV • Share files over Wi-Fi using an FTP server • Access shared files through a web browser

⚙️ Code Execution & Advanced Access

Strata can run and build code in supported languages through Termux. Root access and Shizuku integration provide additional file operations on compatible devices; these capabilities require the appropriate setup and permissions.

Strata is designed to work locally without requiring an account.

🎨 Interface & Languages

The app uses Jetpack Compose and Material 3 Expressive, with dynamic colors and light and dark themes. Supported interface languages include English, Persian with full right-to-left layout, Russian and Chinese.

📱 System Requirements

Strata is designed for Android. Root and Shizuku features require compatible devices and additional setup. Check the project's releases for the appropriate APK and current Android compatibility.

📜 License

Strata is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later (AGPL-3.0-or-later). This is a free and open-source software license that allows users to use, study, modify and redistribute the application under its terms. When distributing modified versions, the applicable source-code disclosure and license requirements must be followed. The license also includes specific obligations for modified versions used to provide network services.

The main application license does not replace the separate license obligations of third-party components.

Strata is a file manager, not an application store or file-hosting service. Access to protected storage, APK modification and network features depends on Android permissions, device configuration and the services you connect to.
