Just+ Player

A fork of Just (Video) Player by Marcel Dopita, keeping its strengths: no ads, no tracking, very few permissions, and support for AC3, E-AC-3, DTS, DTS-HD, and TrueHD, with audio that stays in sync over Bluetooth.

Features

Files and network folders

- Opens on a browser with Files, Network, and Favourites, plus Open link and Join a room. - Files shows resolution, size, date, and where you stopped watching. - Search the open folder or everything below it. - Network: SMB, WebDAV, DLNA/UPnP, and TorrServer, with automatic local discovery and manual address entry. - Optional access to all files on Android 11 and above, with switches for hidden files and .nomedia.

Player and controls

- Poster, title, and a metadata line in the header. - Tap the time bar to seek, and release a drag exactly where the finger was. - Hold the picture to speed up to 2x. - Ten scaling modes: Fit, Crop, Fill, 16:9, 4:3, 16:10, 2:1, 2.35:1, 2.39:1, and 5:4. - Volume up to 200%, screen lock from the bottom bar, and speed from 0.25x to 4x. - Sleep timer from 15 minutes to 12 hours, with fade-out.

Picture and sound

- Match the display's refresh rate and resolution to the video. - 10-bit AV1 playback, including Dolby Vision profile 10, with fallback options for profile 7 and HDR10+. - Pass-through of Dolby and DTS, audio delay, night mode, and dialogue enhancement. - Preferred audio languages.

Subtitles

- Appearance settings with live preview: size, colour, bold, background, and outline. - A second subtitle line in another language. - Online search from OpenSubtitles and others, with file-hash matching and machine translation. - Subtitles next to a video are picked up by name, locally and over HTTP.

Skip segments

- Skip intros, recaps, ad breaks, and end credits, drawn on the time bar. - Segments come from the launching app or from SkipDB, SkipMe.db, IntroHater, IntroDB, TheIntroDB, and Aniskip. - Per segment type: a Skip button, an automatic skip, or an undo option.

Track and quality

- Side panels for audio, subtitles, quality, speed, and playlist. - Manual video quality: optimal, highest, a specific resolution, or a source supplied by the launching app.

Watch together

- Synchronised playback with someone else, with rooms, invite codes, and optional passwords. - Compatible with the LAMPA lparty plugin. - On a TV box, the invite is shown as a QR code.

Android TV

- A start page and focus behaviour sized for a remote. - Held Left and Right accelerate; Down opens the time bar; Back requires a second press to leave the player.

Look

- Material 3 with dark, light, or system themes, AMOLED black, and 32 accent colours. - The app language is picked in the app.

Diagnostics

- A full-screen report in plain language instead of ExoPlayer codes, with Copy, Share, and Upload. - Watchdogs for stalled loads and frozen pictures, with retries for network sources.

Launcher integration

- Intent extras for position, title, poster, subtitles, HTTP headers, playlists, quality variants, and IMDb or TMDB ids.
