About this app
Liseur is an open-source EPUB books reader for Android, and a client for calibre-web and Komga: a modern reader that is equally at home with the files on your phone and with your own book server.
👀 Reading * Paginated EPUB rendering through the Readium toolkit, full screen by default * Tap right to go forward, left to go back, the middle for the controls; volume keys work too * A whole page always fits the screen, with no stray scrolling to catch the last line * Four reading themes (Light, Sepia, Dark, Black), independent of the app's own theme * Four bundled open fonts or the publisher's own, plus size, line spacing, margins and brightness * Time left in the chapter, time left in the book, page or percentage, and a scrubber with chapter ticks
🪧 Marking up and looking up * Highlights in four colours, notes, and bookmarks with a corner ribbon * A notebook of everything you marked in a book, exportable as Markdown * Search the whole book, with snippets and jump-to highlighting * Definitions for any selected word, or a hand-off to an offline dictionary app. Online lookups are off until you turn them on, and you choose which Wiktionary edition or mirror answers them
📚 Your library * Index folders of EPUBs, covers and all * Books you are using sort to the front; finished ones get a tick * Pull to refresh picks up whatever changed behind the app's back
🌐 Your own server * calibre-web: one screen sets it up with URL, username and password, and Liseur works out the catalog, download rights and sync token * Komga: paste the server address and an API key * Your server's books merge into the same library with a cloud badge; tap one to download and open it * Reading positions sync both ways, through calibre-web's Kobo protocol or Komga's read-progress API * Remove the copy on the device, or delete the book from the server
🎉 Free software * No trackers, no analytics, no proprietary dependencies. The only network traffic is to the book server you configured and, if you switch online definitions on, to the dictionary site you chose.

What's new
- Liseur v0.9.1 introduces exact cross-device reading position synchronization using text anchors for matching book editions. This release also adds safer approximate fallbacks when syncing across different editions and ensures reading preferences reflow layout accurately without losing your place.
- ●Reading
- ・Syncing reading progress across devices now uses exact text passage anchors for matching editions, allowing you to resume at the precise line and preview surrounding excerpts (#48). ・Reading positions that fall within the same rounded percentage (such as 7.1% and 7.4%) are now recognized as distinct locations so minor movements sync reliably (#48). ・Positions synced from older clients or different book editions now fall back conservatively to approximate positions to prevent skipping unread pages (#48).
- ●Fixes
- ・Fixed an issue where adjusting reading preferences could disrupt text layout reflows or misplace your current page location.
