About this app

Tadami is a community fork of Aniyomi with a stronger focus on UI quality, Aurora-style surfaces, and a better reading experience across anime, manga, and novels.

Key Differences from Aniyomi

- Aurora-focused UI with dedicated polish for Home, Library, title, and settings screens. - Compose-first app shell, retaining a few intentional legacy View/Fragment bridges for reader, player, auth, or extension compatibility. - Full support for anime, manga, and novels in one app. - Novel-oriented development, including compatibility for LNReader-style ecosystems. - User-facing Aurora customization toggles for key Home and title-card interactions.

Features

- Media types: Anime, manga, and novels in one app. - Sources and extensions: Separate browsing for anime, manga, and novel sources/extensions. - Home and discovery: Aurora Home hub with greeting header, hero card, recent blocks, and media-specific sections. - Library and updates: Unified library management, updates, history, tracking, and download queues. - Aurora customization: Display settings for Home recent card style, Home action button style, and title-card action button style. - Backup and restore: Support across all media types. - Customization: Themes, reader/player behavior, and Aurora-specific visual preferences.

What's new

v0.59Aug 4, 2026
  • 📦 Tadami — v0.59
  • This release introduces the compiled book engine for novels (beta) — continuous reading of a title as a book with auto-scroll, TTS follow-along, in-book translation and FB2 export — plus a rebuilt backup engine with import from other apps (LNReader, Mihon and friends), episode list density, opt-in auto-update for privately installed extensions, and a large batch of reader, player and book-mode fixes.
  • ✨ New Features
  • Compiled Book Engine (experimental) — turn a novel into a book and read it continuously: paginated or scrolled flow, saved position restored with theme and background, smooth auto-scroll, text-to-speech with follow-along, section translation and Bionic Reading. Path: Novel title screen → ⋯ → Make book (experimental) → switch reading mode to Book FB2 export — export a novel as plain-text FB2 in addition to EPUB. Open: Novel title screen → EPUB card → Export as EPUB → enable "Export as FB2" LNReader backup import — restore your library and progress from LNReader backups, including 2.x zip archives; every entry lands in the novel section and the source is labelled in the restore preview. Path: Settings → Data → Restore backup Episode list density — switch the anime episode list between comfortable, compact and dense. Path: Settings → Appearance → App interface → Episode list density (also in the episode list settings dialog on an anime screen) Auto-update extensions (opt-in) — let privately installed extensions update themselves; guarded by a security confirmation and available only with the Private installer. Path: Settings → Advanced → Extensions → Auto-update extensions Copy title — one tap copies the title from the manga, anime or novel header. Open: any title screen → copy icon next to the title Seamless chapter transition (experimental) — keep reading across chapter boundaries without a break in the novel reader. Path: Novel reader quick settings → Behavior → Additional settings → Seamless chapter transition Image context actions in the novel reader — tap an illustration to save it, share it or copy its link; chapter images are also prefetched in the background.
  • 🎨 Improvements
  • Backup engine rebuilt — backups are written to a staging file, verified, and only then replace the destination, so a half-written or truncated file can never destroy a good backup; the result is read back and checked again. Restore now separates manga, anime and novel sections and accepts foreign backups: Mihon / TachiyomiSY / Komikku files restore as manga, LNReader as novels, with the detected origin shown in the preview. Book engine: sections are cached on disk, neighbouring sections are prefetched, stale books are detected, progress persistence is throttled and read marking is more accurate. Reader: page-1 progress persists, no flicker on chapter handoff, custom tap zones work in the page-turn renderer, vertical seekbar dragging is more precise, taps on empty areas and the floating selection are handled correctly. Player: battery-friendly decoding defaults, fixed video filter chain, pause at the end of a file, optimized cutout handling and aspect-ratio updates. Local sources: a user-set cover is never overwritten by a generated thumbnail; cover URLs with non-Latin domains are handled correctly. Novel extensions: gzip responses decompressed, plugin repositories tried in a smarter order. Manga extensions: some 1.6 sources failed to load or update — the missing memo is now recovered automatically and malformed extension metadata no longer crashes the loader on new Android versions; memos persist across restarts. Opt-in auto-compile of local EPUB/FB2 into a book (experimental). Path: Settings → Browse → Local book import
  • 🐛 Bug Fixes
  • Fixed phantom blank/black transition pages appearing between chapters in the manga reader (pager and webtoon). Fixed book reading progress resets, section extents and document reload guards. Fixed a re-entrant focus crash during seamless chapter transition. Fixed double page advance on text tap and plain-tap handling in the pager renderer. Fixed tap zones triggering links twice in the page-turn renderer. Fixed manga memos being lost on restart and some 1.6 manga extensions not working at all — the missing memo is recovered automatically on the next update. Fixed user covers being replaced by generated thumbnails in local sources. Fixed page-1 progress loss and chapter handoff flicker.
  • 🔧 Internal
  • Novel reader screen model refactored into dedicated controllers (progress persistence, translation, selection, content mapping). Book mode rebuilt around a single locator, one content pipeline and one renderer decision; obsolete DOM scripts and dead code removed. Novel screen model unit tests restored.
