About this app

APKUpdater is an open source tool that simplifies the process of finding updates for your installed apps. It provides similar functionality to an app store, but instead of depending on a single source, it aggregates the results from APKMirror, Aptoide, F-Droid, IzzyOnDroid, APKPure, GitLab and GitHub.

The 3.x branch is a full rewrite using modern technologies like Jetpack Compose, Flow and WorkManager.

Features: • Update Sources: Find updates from APKMirror, Aptoide, F-Droid, IzzyOnDroid, APKPure, GitLab, GitHub and Google Play. • Search Sources: Find new apps to install from APKMirror, Aptoide, F-Droid, IzzyOnDroid, APKPure, GitLab, GitHub and Google Play. • Schedule background update checks and receive a notification when updates are found. • Supports Android 5 (21) to Android 14 (34). • Supports Android TV. • Material Design 3 with Dark, Light and System theme support. • Supports Material You on Android 12+. • Direct install of updates for sources that support it. • Supports installs without user interaction on Android 12+. • Root install of updates. • No ads. What's new

v3.7.0Aug 5, 2026
  • Fixes RuStore downloads, which stopped working for every third-party updater.
  • What broke On 15 July 2026 RuStore's download CDN (static-m.rustore.ru) switched to a certificate issued by the Russian Trusted Root CA (Ministry of Digital Development). Android does not ship that root in its system trust store, so downloads failed TLS validation. Update checks kept working, because RuStore's API host still uses an ordinary publicly-trusted certificate — which is exactly why updates were found but never downloaded. Nothing to do with this app; every third-party RuStore client hit the same wall.
  • The fix That root certificate is now bundled and trusted — alongside the normal system CAs — for rustore.ru and its subdomains only. Certificate validation stays fully enabled everywhere, RuStore included. Verified against both live hosts: the API validates only through the system store and the CDN only through the Russian root, so both trust anchors are needed.
  • What was deliberately not done Some other updaters work around this with an "allow insecure requests" switch, i.e. by turning certificate validation off. This app installs APKs: accepting any certificate would let anyone on the same network — public Wi-Fi, an ISP — serve a forged package that the app would then install. Adding one extra trust anchor, scoped to a single domain, achieves the same result without that risk.
  • Limitation Android applies this configuration from version 7.0 onwards. On Android 5 and 6 RuStore downloads remain broken.
